Itinerary snapshot

Days 1-2:

Depart from a major US airport to Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Get settled, rest, and enjoy group activities in the beautiful city of Santa Cruz

Days 3-8:

Travel to Trinidad, Bolivia to board a large riverboat on the Mamoré River. This boat will become our floating home for the next several days! As we travel up-river toward Brazil, we will work alongside an incredible organization serving adults and children with significant needs in indigenous areas of the Amazon Basin. Be ready to work hard, laugh a lot, and make a big difference!

Days 9-13:

Experience life and adventure in the high-altitude cities of La Paz, Bolivia, and Cusco, Peru. we will be immersed in some of the most fascinating ancient places in South America - including Machu Picchu. Be ready for an epic journey! On our final day, we will head to the airport in Cusco to return home with a heart full of memories.

Pricing

  • All inclusive from Major us airport (tbd): $4250 per person

    A $500 deposit (per father-child pair) is due upon registration. Registration includes airfare, most meals, lodging, transportation, insurance, experience guides, adventure experiences, and so much more! This fee also helps cover some of the materials we will need for our mission oriented work in Bolivia. Please note: Airfare to the U.S. jump-off airport and Bolivia Visa Fees are not included.

    Because this trip is mission oriented, Restoration Project is offering some special tools to help raise the funds for this journey, including the cost of your flights! Once you are registered, we will reach out to help create an individual web-page so your family and friends can give tax-deductible contributions toward your trip. Many past participants have been able to fundraise the entire trip cost!

  • By their 17th birthday, your son or daughter is well on their way to adulthood.

    Fathering our almost-grown-up-children with intentionality is so vital during this exciting and pivotal season of their lives. We believe that Trek offers two elements that will help establish a solid foundation upon which their adult life can thrive with confidence and purpose.

    First, the cities and wilds of South America offer an opportunity for adventure and play, but perhaps more importantly they offer an opportunity for your son or daughter to encounter the reality of life as much of the world knows it. Much of our time in the Amazon Basin will be spent partnering with a brilliant organization that serves children and adults with medical care, dentistry, educational support, and unconditional love. To put it bluntly, we hope our time playing and teaching and laughing and working with these kids and adults will break our hearts. We hope your son or daughter will catch a vision for the world and will never be the same.

    Second, this is an opportunity for you to see the man or woman your child is becoming and to offer your blessing. There’s nothing more powerful in the life of a child (no matter their age) than the strong and tender words of a father.

    Along with our time in the jungle, Trek will also take us into the Andes. We will experience the thrill of La Paz, Bolivia as well as Cusco, Peru with a day at Machu Picchu!

  • You and your child will meet us at a major domestic airport in the afternoon of June 3, 2026.

    IMPORTANT: You are responsible for transportation to and from the jump-off airport. More information on specific arrival and departure time expectations will be shared upon registration.

  • There’s no need for prior experience. Your Trek guides have decades of experience traveling and leading teams around the globe, including South America.

  • Your guides will make sure that every traveler has all the information they need to be ready.

    If desired, we can help organize your flights to and from the jump-off city to give you peace of mind and a smooth journey.

    Along with several team zoom-meetings, you will receive packing and informational lists to help you get organized and feel confident about the trip.

  • All travelers MUST have a US Passport that does not expire before December, 2026. Please double check your passports and expiration dates as soon as possible.

    Visas are required for entry into Bolivia. This is not included in the cost of the trip and must be purchased upon arrival in Bolivia

  • No vaccines are required for entry to Bolivia or Peru at this time. A list of CDC recommended vaccines for travel to these areas will be shared with you upon registration. Additionally, while we will not be traveling in areas where malaria is prevalent, feel free to speak with your doctor should you want more information about malaria prophylactic medication.

    Emergency medical insurance is included in the registration fee. This includes in-country medical care as well as emergency evacuation costs. Trip cancellations for personal reasons are not covered.
