THE RESTORATION MOVEMENT

Unprepared and isolated men destroy the world. As a collective of legacy building men, RP dares men to transform into intentional fathers and brothers through provokingly kind experiences and resources so champions rise for generations to come.

OUR VISION

We envision a world where men are men as God intended – where fatherlessness ceases to exist and the hearts of men are fully restored to God, family and community. We imagine a world where the inner wounds of men are healed, where men know God deeply and wildly, and where men move from an inner core of strength to restore God’s Kingdom to the world.

OUR ADVOCATES

In order to accomplish our vision and mission, we invite a small number of hand-selected men to be part of the company of voices that create, represent and advocate for Restoration Project. We call this the Restoration Project Grove.

Modeled after an aspen grove, we view the work of Restoration Project to be a collective effort, a movement of men across the globe who are deeply connected but individually important. These Advocates share our passion for Jesus’ restoration of men everywhere, and are willing, able and deeply committed to pursue God’s work in their own lives and stories. These men strive to live authentic, humble and honest lives of faith as they offer their perspectives on the masculine journey. All of us are messy, and yet we share in the hope that God is more gracious than we dare dream.

OUR STORY

During the years of 1997-2007, while on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ in the Middle East, our founder and CEO Chris Bruno worked closely with hundreds of men of all ages as they struggled to come to grips with their own stories and masculinity. These kitchen table conversations created in him a deep desire to help men live fully and freely as God intended.

From 2007-2010, Chris completed a MA in Counseling Psychology at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, focusing his research and clinical experience on the masculine journey.

Deeply influenced by the training of Dr. Dan Allender and other like-minded authors and professors, Chris began to reframe the typical men’s literature from the 90’s that focused on sin management and Christian moralism into a journey of exploration, glory and freedom.

In 2007, Chris met Greg Daley, a pastor and outdoor experience enthusiast and expert. Together they imagined a ministry that would provide experiential space for men to combine critical content with a challenging context – a catalyst for relationship, reflection and restoration for the hearts of men. Initially starting with the flagship weekend experience called 2nd Adam: Adventures in Manhood, Chris and Greg officially founded Restoration Project (RP) in 2010.

Since then, God continued to mold and shape Restoration Project. He led further into the realm of intentional fathering and brothering, mostly out of our own stories as men seeking to honor him and be all He designed us to be. In 2013, Restoration Project published the first version of Brotherhood Primer and launched a movement of men who wanted to engage masculine friendships on deeper level. In 2014, when Chris Bruno published Man Maker Project: Boys are Born, Men are Made, hundreds of other fathers caught the vision to intentionally raise their children through a rite of passage process. With increasing clarity and feedback, Restoration Project has found its niche in helping men be the fathers, brothers and protectors God designed them to be.
