We are excited to announce that this trip will be in partnership with Noah’s Ark, who for the last 40 years has been known for providing extraordinary recreation and educational opportunities for families and youth from all over the world. Noah’s Ark will be serving as our outfitters, rafting guides, and friends.

In a daughter’s life, there is no man more important than her father. As she emerges from the little girl into the young woman, she needs your presence, your strength, your guidance and your intention. While you cannot be the one to lead her into womanhood (that is her mother’s role), God designed you to be her security, safety, and strength from which she will take wing and fly.
As a 14-16 year old young woman, she needs your time, attention, and intention. And she needs to experience your affection for both her loveliness and her fierceness. What better place is there to encounter these in her than the back country
Back County Canoe truly is an epic adventure as we canoe down the Gunnison River in Colorado. We’ll make our way through the wilderness, navigate rapids, and enjoy the stunning beauty of the river and surrounding area. We have no doubt this will be one of the most memorable trips you’ve ever experienced.
Join a small group of other fathers as they seek to see, love, and launch their daughters. We have crafted an experience that will invite you to step away from the grind and enter the holy space of offering her life and love for a lifetime.
This is not just a canoe trip. God the Father used the wilderness as the context for Jesus’s preparation for ministry, and we believe there is no better place to help your daughter discover how she reflects God’s strength and beauty to the world. All the while, we will be hiking, camping, and climbing mountains away from civilization and enjoying the fierce beauty of Colorado.
Building on the categories presented in Base Camp Girls, we will deepen our exploration of what it means to be a young woman strongly supported by a kind father. [Specific activities intentionally kept secret!]

This expedition will begin at 1:00 pm on July 17 near Buena Vista, Colorado. The specific location will be revealed a few weeks before the trip. We will return to Buena Vista by 6:00 pm on July 21st. Please plan travel accordingly. You will be able to park your vehicle at the departure site for the duration of the trip.

No outdoor experience is necessary, through all participants must be physically able to paddle a canoe for 5-6 hours a day, and do some moderate hiking. There will be other physical challenges included in this experience as well, though participants may opt out if needed.
We provide all river gear, all meals, and our guides have decades of river guiding experience, creating the space for any father-daughter pair to participate.

You’ll be led by experienced river guides as well as facilitators who will walk you and your daughter through the relational content of the weekend.
We provide all canoes, life vests, gear related to canoeing, and group gear. All meals are also provided.
You are responsible for personal clothing and camping gear. A limited number of tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads are available to rent.
Upon registration you will receive a packing list which will outline everything you need for a great trip.
