BACK COUNTRY Girls BACKPACK

In a daughter’s life, there is no man more important than her father. As she emerges from the little girl into the young woman, she needs your presence, your strength, your guidance and your intention. While you cannot be the one to lead her into womanhood (that is her mother’s role), God designed you to be her security, safety, and strength from which she will take wing and fly.

As a 14-16 year old young woman, she needs your time, attention, and intention. And she needs to experience your affection for both her loveliness and her fierceness. What better place is there to encounter these in her than the back country

Experience the adventure of the outdoors on a 5-day backpacking trip into the high country of Colorado. Join a small group of other fathers as they seek to see, love, and launch their daughters. We have crafted an experience that will invite you to step away from the grind and enter the holy space of offering her life and love for a lifetime.


This is not just a backpacking trip. God the Father used the wilderness as the context for Jesus’s preparation for ministry, and we believe there is no better place to help your daughter discover how she reflects God’s strength and beauty to the world. All the while, we will be hiking, camping, and climbing mountains away from civilization and enjoying the fierce beauty of the Colorado Rockies.

Building on the categories presented in Base Camp Girls, we will deepen our exploration of what it means to be a young woman strongly supported by a kind father. [Specific activities intentionally kept secret!]

We will leave from Fort Collins, Colorado at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 29th (specific location TBA) Return to Fort Collins, Colorado by 6 p.m. on Friday, August 2nd. Please plan travel accordingly.

This is truly a backpacking experience, and all participants must recognize this is completely primitive with no facilities but the woods. Our wilderness guides provide delicious meals and outdoor skills-building so there is no need for prior backpacking experience.

We have both male and female guides who are highly skilled in all things outdoors, so you and your girls can be at rest. While no prior back country experience is needed, all participants (girls and dads alike) need to have the physical ability to carry 40-50 lb. backpacks for 5-6 miles at high elevation and a willingness to be pushed physically to accomplish significant challenges.

We provide all group gear, all meals, and back country guides, thus creating the space for any father-daughter pair to participate.

You are responsible for all your personal clothing and supplies. A limited number of tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and backpacks are available for rent. Upon registration you will receive a specific gear list in your welcome packet.

While on trail, we will share responsibilities amongst the group, including pitching tents, purifying water, cooking meals, etc.
