Fierce & lovely: BACKPACKing

Join a small group of other fathers as they seek to see, love, and launch their daughters. We have crafted an experience that will invite you to step away from the grind and enter the holy space of offering her life and love for a lifetime.


In a daughter’s life, there is no man more important than her father. As she emerges from the little girl into the young woman, she needs you. While you cannot be the one to lead her into womanhood (that is her mother’s role), God designed you to be her security, safety, and strength from which she will take wing and fly.

As a 13-15 year old young woman, she needs your time, attention, and intention. And she needs to experience your affection for both her loveliness and her fierceness. What better place is there to encounter these in her than the back country

Fierce & Lovely: Backpacking truly is an epic adventure in some of the most beautiful and wild country in Colorado. We’ll make our way through the wilderness, and enjoy the stunning beauty of the surrounding area. We have no doubt this will be one of the most memorable trips you’ve ever experienced.

This backcountry trip has been designed specifically with young women in mind. Our goal is that they have the opportunity to tap into their strength, but also be treated like the precious young women they are. That means you'll eat well, have plenty of time to rest, and we will even bring along a back country shower and commode.

This is not just a hiking trip. God the Father used the wilderness as the context for Jesus’s preparation for ministry, and we believe there is no better place to help your daughter discover how she reflects God’s strength and beauty to the world. All the while, we will be hiking, camping, and climbing mountains away from civilization and enjoying the fierce beauty of Colorado.

Building on the categories presented in Fierce & Lovely: Base Camp, we will deepen our exploration of what it means to be a young woman strongly supported by a kind father. [Specific activities intentionally kept secret!]

This expedition will begin in the morning on July 27th in Fort Collins, Colorado. The specific location will be revealed a few weeks before the trip. Everyone will return to the Fort Collins area by 6:00 pm on July 31st. Please plan travel accordingly.

No outdoor experience is necessary, through all participants must be physically able to do some moderate hiking with a backpack. There will be other physical challenges included in this experience as well, though participants may opt out if needed.

Our experienced guides will happily assist with selecting or adjusting your packs, choosing the right camping gear, and even getting your tent set up.

You’ll be led by experienced wilderness guides as well as facilitators who will walk you and your daughter through the relational content of the weekend.

We provide all gear related to water purification, cooking, and group gear.

All meals are also provided from the moment you arrive to the meeting location on the first day through breakfast on the final day.

You are responsible for personal clothing and camping gear. A limited number of tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads are available to rent.

Upon registration you will receive a packing list which will outline everything you need for a great trip.
