Fierce & lovely: BACKPACKing

Join a small group of other fathers as they seek to see, love, and launch their daughters. We have crafted an experience that will invite you to step away from the grind and enter the holy space of offering her life and love for a lifetime.


In a daughter’s life, there is no man more important than her father. As she emerges from the little girl into the young woman, she needs you. While you cannot be the one to lead her into womanhood (that is her mother’s role), God designed you to be her security, safety, and strength from which she will take wing and fly.

As a 13-15 year old young woman, she needs your time, attention, and intention. And she needs to experience your affection for both her loveliness and her fierceness. What better place is there to encounter these in her than the back country

Fierce & Lovely: Backpacking truly is an epic adventure in some of the most beautiful and wild country in Colorado. We’ll make our way through the wilderness, and enjoy the stunning beauty of the Collegiate Peak and Buffalo Peak Wilderness areas near Buena Vista, Colorado.. We have no doubt this will be one of the most memorable trips you’ve ever experienced.

This is completely primitive with no facilities but the woods, however our wilderness guides from Noah’s Ark will provide delicious meals and outdoor skills-building so there is no need for prior backpacking experience.

This backcountry trip has been designed specifically with young women in mind. Our goal is that they have the opportunity to tap into their strength, but also be treated like the precious young women they are. That means you'll eat well, have plenty of time to rest, and we will even bring along a back country shower and commode.

This is not just a hiking trip. God the Father used the wilderness as the context for Jesus’s preparation for ministry, and we believe there is no better place to help your daughter discover how she reflects God’s strength and beauty to the world. All the while, we will be hiking, camping, and climbing mountains away from civilization and enjoying the fierce beauty of Colorado.

Building on the categories presented in Fierce & Lovely: Base Camp, we will deepen our exploration of what it means to be a young woman strongly supported by a kind father.

We will be partnering with our friends and experienced outfitters for this trip, Noah’s Ark. We’ll meet up in Buena Vista, Colorado on Monday morning, July 26th (specific location TBA)

We plan to return to Buena Vista, Colorado by 3 p.m. on Friday, July 30th. Please plan travel accordingly.

No outdoor experience is necessary, through all participants must be physically able to do some moderate hiking with a backpack. There will be other physical challenges included in this experience as well, though participants may opt out if needed.

Our experienced guides will happily assist with selecting or adjusting your packs, choosing the right camping gear, and even getting your tent set up.

All group gear, all meals, and back country guides will be provided by the Noah’s Ark Team - thus creating the space for any father-daughter pair to participate.

Noah’s Ark also will supply all backpacks, and tents if so desired. Sleeping bags and all other personal clothing and supplies will be your responsibility to bring. If you need a sleeping bag, we do have some available for rent upon registration.

As we get into the beginning of 2027 you will receive a welcome packet which includes a required/recommended gear list.

While on trail, we will share responsibilities amongst the group, including pitching tents, purifying water, cooking meals, etc.
