The Absolute Best Father’s Day EVER!

Last year, Restoration Project hosted a never-before-seen experience for Colorado families on Father’s Day. This year, back by popular demand, we’re doing it again!

Join Restoration Project for the Second Annual Father’s Day Cardboard Boat Derby. Over the next several weeks and months leading up to Father’s Day, you and your child(ren) craft and create your very own life-sized cardboard boat. Then, bring it on June 19th to the Derby Event, and race it against other father-child pairs. Yes, you and your kids literally get in the boat and race it. How fun is that?!

  • WIN #1: Your kids get both your attention and your intention. They get time with dad as you build your sea-worthy vessel.

  • WIN #2: You get the gift of a lifetime - forever memories with your children. Much better than another stupid tie or coffee mug, right?!

  • WIN #3: It’s an all-family event. The Derby is at a fantastic outdoor venue, and we’ll have dinner, games, prizes, races, and more.

  • WIN #4: Similar to a walk-a-thon or marathon, each father-child pair finds “sponsors” to contribute financially to Restoration Project on behalf of their boat. Imagine, for example, Grandma pledging $5/minute the boat stays afloat, or Uncle Bob offering $25 to have his name painted on the hull? It’s as easy as that. The money raised then goes to expand Restoration Project’s impact on families across the country.

  • WIN #5: It’s FUN for everyone, and on Wednesday evening, June 19th after Father’s Day! Meaning, you still get to go fly fishing over the weekend.

  • CELEBRATING FATHERS like never before

Let your kids celebrate YOU by having fun together with you!

  • races and events for all ages

All children ages 7-17 have age-specific events.

  • Hosted at Noco Islands

Fun for the whole family, with dinner, prizes, games, and more.

HOW

THIS WORKS…

STEP #1: REGISTER

Register: $150 registration includes entrance and all activities on The NOCO Islands for up to 4 people including a picnic dinner and as many boat event entries as each Dad wants (1 child? 3?). If your family has more than 4, no problem. Just add them at registration.

STEP #2: GET THE MATERIALS

You will receive information about the event, rules of engagement (i.e. what materials you can use and not use, etc.), as well as a simple guide on how to turn an activity like boat-building into an intentional fathering experience. Then, you’ll have the freedom to design your own boat in the way/manner/style you choose. Get creative! There are prizes for theme, costumes, and more!

STEP #3: FIND YOUR BOAT’S SPONSORS

Each participant will be given a personalized fundraising page with the goal to raise $300 (tips and tricks given along the way). We’re making it fun and giving out prizes. Dads and kids will find sponsors for things such as how many seconds we stay afloat or how many laps we’ll make around the water trampoline. Our fundraising goal for the whole event is $15,000. Together we can take our evening of fun and help expand the work of Restoration Project across the globe.

STEP #4: BUILD YOUR BOAT

Dads and kid(s) will get to work designing, building, and decorating their life-sized, floatable boat! Participants can make anything on the spectrum of floatable raft to impressive yacht! You have as much time as you want to work on your boat. This is a fantastic way for you and your kids to laugh and play as you create a unique vessel to represent your family.

STEP #5: JOIN US AT THE DERBY - June 19, 2024

On the evening of the event, NOCO Islands will transport people and boats via their pontoon over to the island for a fun evening of activities (there’s beach volleyball, a lake trampoline, canoes, kayaks, corn hole, horseshoes, food, etc.) The Derby races and contests will be bracketed by ages and include things such as distance, time afloat, boat design, and even themed costumes (life-jackets provided).

STEP #6: CELEBRATE FATHERING TOGETHER

Together, we will build into the legacy of our own families while also building into the legacies of others. At the end of the night, dads and kids will already be making plans for how they’ll improve and slay the competition in next year’s Derby!

Are you a Church or Community Group?

It’s always a challenge to find something creative to honor dads on Father’s Day. We have a solution!

Restoration Project has been creating transformative experiences and resources to help men become more aware, connected, and intentional with their lives for over a decade.

Based out of Fort Collins, we architect these experiences in places such as Colorado trails and rivers, around fire pits in California, on the cliffs of Ireland, and the slums of Nairobi. In everything we do, we help men discover and offer their restorative presence to the world.

Crafting meaningful opportunities for dads to engage their children is the bedrock of our ministry. That’s why we’re so excited to host Father’s Day Cardboard Boat Derby Fundraiser. Dads and their children will spend time building a life-sized, floatable boat, together before launch day and race it at the event. It’s a fun way to celebrate Dad, involve his kids in a memorable experience, and help Restoration Project continue to offer transformation!

Will you be a part of this event?

We’ll provide your church with posters, digital fliers, a slide, and coaching.

Are you a local business?

We love partnering with and highlighting local businesses that share our vision for intentional fathering.

Will you be a part of this fundraising event*?

There are multiple ways to sponsor the Father’s Day Cardboard Boat Derby:

  • Sponsor a Race: We accept any level of financial sponsorship to help undergird the event. Businesses that sponsor a race for $500 or more will have be highlighted during the event.

  • Sponsor the Event: To make this an awesome experience, we need businesses to offer in-kind donations of food, materials, and fun. Businesses that sponsor the event at an in-kind level of $500 or more will also be highlighted throughout the evening.

*Event is Wednesday, June 19th 6-8pm at NOCO Islands. We anticipate 200 people.
